The doorbell rang yesterday. A quick ring. And I heard a drop of a box. My heart flittered. I had that giddy feeling I used to get when I would go to pick up a freshly developed roll of film. A feeling I haven't had for years. I opened the front door and there it was, my long awaited box from
blurb.com with my first published blog book.

I couldn't be happier with the product. I have tried at least 4 different online publishing companies and this is by far the best I have found in quality and price. My book is 150 pages, high quality paper, full page bleeds, full color, hard cover full-wrap and
I spent under $60. Plus the shipping was free (gotta love googling for online coupons!) Now I can say that all this blogging is worth it. I have a physical copy of all that I have been archiving for years. I'm now working on the 2008 book and will go back and do 2006 later. I don't know why I did them out of order. I think I was more inspired by the pictures as time went on so I did the one that most inspired me first to not be burned out.

The thing I love about blurb is that it pulls everything off of your blog and puts it in chronological order for you - text and photos. Then I just had to do the work of arranging it how
I wanted it.

If any of you are interested in publishing with blurb, feel free to contact me for questions. They do anything from soft cover black and white text novels to hard cover 12 x 12 coffee-table books. And the software is the best I've found in online publishing. Or if you're into doing your own layouts, they allow you to edit in their software or upload pdfs. I have learned a few things in the process I'd be happy to share with you. Now, I've got a million more book ideas swimming around in my head, so pardon me, but I've got to get back to publishing.

WOW that looks beautiful.
Daisy both books look incredible!!! I am so happy you found a place where we can publish our blogs in a physical book! I sure do love you!
I am interested in turning my blog into a book. I'm so glad that you found this resource.
That is very cool. Just curious, have you used Shutterfly for books? I love, love, love them and do all of my online picture books with them. I've found a lot of duplication between the family blog and the online picture book. I might make a better effort at the blog if I know that it has a 2 in 1 purpose.
Great job on your book, Daisy. It looks wonderful. I would love to talk with you more about this. I've heard so much about blurb, but haven't done it yet, so it will be good to have a first-person testimonial. :)
daisy go to my blog. i'm sure you can find it. i just want your opinion. should i make it a book? or should i just leave it rotting in cyberspace?
(you know fermentation of text and pictures in cyberspace smell less like refuse and more like nothing than what is now wasting in my bin)
