Last April, the girls and I traveled to Colorado to spend Spring Break at Aunt Tami's house. Annie came from London and several of us siblings took advantage of the opportunity to get together. They worked during the day and in the afternoon and evenings we went for walks around the nearby lake, for a picnic/hike in the hills near Fort Collins. The girls enjoyed spending time with their cousins, decorating easter eggs, and making crystal trees. We made a trip to Denver one evening to have dinner with Aunt Linda and Uncle Mike. Time with family is precious. I'm grateful we could make these memories together.

Happy Easter
It's finally getting warm here and the girls enjoyed wearing their spring dresses and sandals to church for Easter. We're looking forward to a week off from school and relaxing and getting a few things done around here!

Easter
I was lucky this year that Easter fell on Spring Break week and I actually got to enjoy some Easter activities wtih the girls . . . they were low-key, but it was just nice to be able to have time to think about more than just what's coming at me next and do some fun things with the girls when we're not rushed to make dinner, clean up, and go to bed. We dyed eggs one afternoon. They always love that and wish we could dye dozens more. We also made some paper Easter Lilies with the girl's handprint cutouts.
I think the Easter Bunny must have borrowed my camera when he hid these eggs at dawn cause there were some pretty egg photos in the morning light.
At first, the girls were looking everywhere in the house for the eggs until she finally opened the curtains and caught a glimpse of the spring eggs all over the yard. They were both excited to hunt and fill their baskets. The bunny left them a letter and Marcela wrote him back and forth for about a week.
Ceci was so excited that she got to wear her green "sandalias" - this was the first time she got to wear them and she couldn't wait.
After church we had our first real Easter Sunday Dinner as far as I can remember. We have never been much for doing the traditional American Easter because Armando didn't grow up with it and I'm just not good at it I guess. But it was fun this year to have a nice dinner that was out of the norm. Everyone loved this asparagus I tried.
And Lance came over and made an impromptu dessert. Underneath was a sponge cake covered in cookies and cream ice cream and then blended berries and fresh fruit on top. It was pretty. And I'll leave it at that . . . Could you pass the asparagus please?
